In 2020, the theme found inspiration in “Future Perfect” a grammatical-tense used to express a completed action in the future, be it in a few hours, days, months or even years from now.
With everything that’s happening this year a new normal seems to have taken over. And given the speed at which our society and world as we know it is changing it seems only fitting that this year’s artist let their imaginations run wild in creating what a perfect future looks like to them in any shape or form.
Metaphorically, “Future Perfect” represents an utopia. Utopian ideas, as unreachable as it may seem in the present, are the preliminary stage to a collective creation of awareness to any kind of societal change.

On the occasion of the screen printing edition with David Leitner, which was realized as part of the festival, the festival was officially opened in the premises of the Kunst ab Hinterhof Galerie. The festival presented an exclusive silkscreen edition, which was presented in the gallery's premises. In addition, the organizers talked to the artists involved about the theme of the festival and visitors had the opportunity to ask the artists questions about their creative process.
