Five years of Calle Libre, five senses, five continents, five as a number of love. Those are our reference points.
The fifth year of a bold and daring vision of a city filled with colorful paintings and bright colors. The five pillars of our program, which are live-paintings, workshops, film screenings, guided tours, and a conference, define the key emphasis of this year’s festival.
The fifth year is the culmination of the idea of changing the public space with a lasting effect by a young team driven by ambition, vision, and ideals; to create the opportunity for an intercultural exchange between visitors and artists and to bring graffiti, street art, and urban art into an open discourse.
With various events accompanying the festival, we responded to a demand for an interdisciplinary approach to art, where we wanted to let the different art forms and art practices like dance, music, and performance come together. It was important to us to have a heterogenic audience where people from all kinds of cultural, social, and economic settings interact with each other.

Urban art Conference
“How is Urban Art changing modern cities?“
In 2018 we organized Austria’s first “URBAN ART CONFERENCE“ where we invited artists, experts, and city officials to discuss the question “How is urban art changing modern cities?“
The goal of the conference was to bring the topic of urban art from the practical sphere to the more theoretical one. Theory behind art lends it legitimacy, and that has been the goal of our conference.
