“The wall” - Stand with Ukraine
The Wall, a street art project launched in five cities: Amsterdam, Berlin, Geneva, Marseille and Ankara during fall 2022.
The project aimed to demonstrate that Ukraine was part of the European Union community. We emphasized many similarities - shared values, goals, and rights. In order to highlight these commonalities while preserving the individuality of each side, we attempted to engage five well-known Ukrainian and five European street artists. They collaborated closely and developed projects to illustrate that the concept of interaction and synergy wasn't merely theoretical but was embodied in this project. In doing so, we pursued the concept of co-creation, alliance, and mutual benefit, similar to what we desired in broader collaboration between our countries.
In Vienna, Ukrainian artist Nikita Kravtsov collaborated with French comic artist and filmmaker Vincent Paronnaud, to revisit Klimt's portraits to pay tribute to the Austrian artist and combine Ukrainian and European symbols to reflect a shared past. The mural represents a bright future, freedom, and positive thinking.
