Comm:unity exhibition
A FEMALE STREET ART EXHIBITION
Curated by Lena Hartinger & Jakob Kattner
In April, the group exhibition "Comm:unity," hosted at Gallery Hartinger, showcased a cross-section of contemporary perspectives by international female artists in the context of the collective identity of street art.
Anchored in the themes of communication, unity, and collaboration, the works displayed resonated strength, courage, and creativity, transcending borders and building bridges. The exhibition highlighted the art movement, rooted in rebellion, seamlessly shifting from street to canvas while employing similar visual language, techniques, and iconography as seen on the streets.

This exhibition stood as a tribute to the disruptive communities that challenged the status quo, championing equality and inclusivity. The female artists not only brought colour and life to our cities but also formed a community among themselves. Even if not always structurally, they resembled each other through their art practices and approaches to the artistic process and, in the case of this exhibition, combined subculture and high culture in a fascinating dialogue.
Visitors were invited to examine the dynamic interplay between underground and mainstream culture while celebrating the transformative power of urban art through the lenses of the following artists:
