Lucía Pintos Bentancurt, also known as N U L O, was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1989. In 2010, she began attending the capital’s Fine Arts Academy. In 2014, with some friends, she founded "Casa Wang" studio, where she and the other artists organise artistic workshops, small residencies, painting courses, exhibitions, and interventions in the nearby neighbourhoods. In 2016, she moved to Italy and began studying at Brera, the Fine Arts Academy of Milan. Since 2015 she has been involved in the world of urban art, she has participated in several festivals in Uruguay, Brazil, Spain, now in Italy and in other European countries, with a special focus on projects with a social and community vision.

Nulo’s work is based around colour, the study of shapes and textures. Her artist name is her declaration of intent. N U L O finds the reasons for its cancellation in the charm of order: stripping existence of meaning and, at the same time, making it significant in error, in out of place, in disintegration. She has built her creative research on the disintegration of order: while a new balance is sought on one side of the world, on the other — an artist is born to deconstruct it, simplifying reality to its most radical essence. Her abstract paintings free themselves from decoding so they can return to the most childish elementality, to the most acute simplification. The habit of building common codes reminds N U L O of mystical, expressive and emancipatory disorder. In the interweaving of her liquid chromaticisms, the artist "disidentifies" from herself, to find herself identical to the existential spirit of the child and, therefore, of all humanity.
