Jakob der bruder

Viennese artist Jakob der Bruder started painting graffiti in 2016 and has since developed into an up-and-coming talent on the art scene. Even as a child, he was fascinated by the graffiti artwork along the railway lines he saw on his way to school - a fascination that later led him to art himself. He originally painted classic graffiti, but soon developed his own style by questioning and reinterpreting traditional elements.

Jakob's works are characterised by a symbiosis of classic graffiti letters and abstract and figurative elements of everyday life. On closer inspection, his detailed graffiti conceals stories and scenes, figures, faces and organic elements that invite the viewer to linger longer and discover ever new details. The colour and line compositions are created spontaneously, are influenced by the respective surroundings and sometimes reinterpret existing fantasy worlds from films and comics.

His works, which stand out due to their unusual shapes and colour combinations, are now known throughout Europe.
